About
David Oates is a Manchester-based editorial and commercial photographer with extensive experience working on commissioned assignments for publishers, organisations and institutions in the UK and internationally.
His work focuses on portraiture and documentary photography, often exploring the relationship between people and culture.
David is regularly commissioned for projects that require sensitivity, discretion and a considered approach. He works closely with editors, communications teams and creative leads to produce photography that is clear, honest and context-driven.
Assignments range from short editorial commissions to long-term documentation for organisations, reports, publications and exhibitions.
His photography has been published widely and exhibited internationally, and he has worked with a broad range of clients across media, culture, education and the public sector.
David is available for editorial, commercial and institutional commissions, and welcomes enquiries from organisations and collaborators seeking experienced photographic support.
